Israel’s National HaBima Theater produced a theatrical performance with 100 actors, in order to call for the release of the Israeli hostages kidnaped on October 7 and held by Hamas in Gaza.

The actors sang and read excerpts, including a monologue by the Trusting Passenger from Levin’s The Child Dreams, performed in Hebrew and English by Lilian Barreto and Rona-Lee Shimon. The monologue in English is taken from Jessica Cohen and Evan Fallenberg's translation of the play, published as part of the British anthology of Levin's plays (Osborn Publishers). 

The event was held in Israel’s National HaBima Theater Square, where 242 beds were put on public display, one for each hostage, to dramatize the urgent call to release them from captivity.
