Announcing the Publication of a New Three-Volume Anthology of 15 of Hanoch Levin’s Plays in new English Translations, published by Oberon Bloomsbury, London

A long and complex four-year project was completed last March with the publication of a three-volume anthology containing new English language translations of plays by Hanoch Levin. The anthology came out with the exclusive British publishing house, Oberon Bloomsbury.

Each volume contains five plays in wonderful translations by Jessica Cohen (whose translation of David Grossman’s A Horse Walks into a Bar won the Man Booker prize), Professor Evan Fallenberg, and Neman Tamuz. Requiem was translated by Lee Nesher and Leland Frankel.

Among the plays appearing in the anthology: Krum, Schitz, The Child Dreams, The Labor of Life, The Thin Soldier, Everyone Wants to Live, The Constant Mourner, The Suitcase Packers, The Torments of Job, and others.

This is the first time that a translation of Hanoch Levin’s plays of this scope has been undertaken in Britain. Levin’s work is represented in England and in English-speaking countries around the world by agent Howard Gooding of the Judy Daish Associates agency.
